Wednesday LOVIN!

One thing I am LOVING today is a blog post from Paige at Praise Him in this Storm..... She wrote about the very popular article circulating through facebook called "Don't Carpe Diem". If y'all haven't read the article read it HERE. But I LOVED Paige's take on it.

When I read the article I was not a fan! It seemed so negative to me. I realize that having kids is challenging and I'm sure when you have more than one its even worse, but the whole article rubbed me the wrong way. It seems every time an older woman (or man) reminds me to enjoy my daughter even in those hard times, I really appreciate their advice, they usually offer it because they have perspective. I have learned that having perspective is one of the hardest things to acquire sometimes.
I think that that is exactly what "The older Woman" in that article is trying to point out to the writer. Its not that she wants her to throw a party because her kids are acting up, but its that she wants to bestow a little "perspective" to her day.Its natural to want to complain about our kids when we have had a hard and challenging day (week, or month ha!) with them. But its when our complaining becomes more frequent than our thankfulness that we loose sight of the gift God has given us. Every time Hannah is bugging me to death or being disobedient or just plain bad, I try and remind myself of all of the women out there who would LOVE to be in my shoes, the women who have lost a child or told that they will never have a child. God has given me the best gift he can possibly give us on this earth and that's a child. If I spend every night in bed and look at my husband relieved just to have gotten through another day, I don't consider that doing the best with the gift that I have been given. Not to say that there wont be those nights, but I hope and pray that there will be significantly more nights that we lay in bed telling each other how lucky we are that we have an angel sleeping in the next room.

Another thing I'm LOVING are the recipes I am finding on Pinterest. I have found a couple of "Smores" recipes that look amazing! These look so good!

And so do these!

This Weekend...

This weekend has been a good one! We started it out by... TAKING DOWN OUR CHRISTMAS (don't judge... we did just spend over a week at Disney ha!) Last weekend when we got back I kept telling myself to take it all down but....that never happened. So this weekend I knew I HAD to do it. I was not about to go into February with Christmas still up. To make matters worse Hannah was still under the impression that it still was Christmas. She kept saying throughout the day "Merry Christmas...Happy New Year". Poor baby, we have confused her by leaving our decor up until almost FEBRUARY!

I also had an order for Cinnamon rolls and sticky buns I had to make for someone at my dads work. I hadn't made them in so long and was a little panicky at first because that's one of the recipes I never wrote down because I want to keep it in MY HEAD ONLY (no sharing this one sorry) Well.... I had forgotten it for a second but I eventually remembered and they turned out GREAT!

There is nothing like a warm cinnamon roll and sticky bun!

We also introduced Hannah to "The Little Mermaid". She has been on a serious Cinderella kick and we watch that movie up to 4 TIMES A DAY! I was really wanting to find the Little Mermaid to hopefully give her another option. Well I found the one that I watched as a little girl on VHS. WOW! I forgot or never realized how poor the quality was on those things. It was so neat to get to watch it again. Every time I watch old movies from when I was little it brings me back and I am LOVING the fact that I get to do this all over again. She LOVES the movie! So much in fact that we watched it 3 TIMES yesterday... Here we go again ha! I am really enjoying her at this stage. I just want to soak every single minute of my girly girl.

What Im LOVING Wednesday!

So now that I am going to be making more of an effort to get back into blogging, I have to start back on my What I'm Loving Wednesdays! The first thing I am LOVING this week is planning Hannah's 2nd birthday party. I was OBSESSED with planning her 1st Birthday Party but this year I'm going to take it a (little) bit easier with her 2nd Birthday party. This year we are having it at the Jumpy Place and the party theme is Minnie Mouse (shocker ha!) Here are some of my Pinterest inspirations....

The next thing that I am LOVING are all the new TV shows that started this month! We were gone at Disney for over a week and when I got back my DVR was 55% full! These are some of the shows in my DVR right now...

Desperate Housewives: I have always been a fan (even through last years pitiful season)

The Bachelor: Even though I am really NOT DIGGING Ben, I will continue to watch

Dance Moms: I LOVE this show!

Pan Am: I LOVE this show! I have heard rumors that it might be getting cancelled... I hope not!

I only get the chance to watch these shows right before Han wakes up. My husband and I like to watch The Middle, Modern Family, Top Chef and The office together at night after she is asleep.

The last thing I am LOVING this week is the fact that I am officially a stay at home mommy again. My job at The Sweet Spot is no more because well... The Sweet Spot is no more. The owner (Brittney) just didn't want to do it anymore and hadn't even been to the shop in months. I had to run EVERYTHING and make all the decisions plus bake everything for the shop and it wasn't ever going to work out with the  schedule I needed. I only wanted to work part time and the store needed someone full time to make it work the way it needed to. So Brittney and I decided it was best to close. She had just had a baby and wanted to stay home and I didn't want the responsibility of a full time job.... Hannah had to come first. So right after Christmas we closed the doors. I have to say that it hasn't been as hard as I thought it would be. Hannah has been the sweetest she has EVER been. I don't know if its because of coincidence of if she loves staying at home with me everyday but we are both LOVING this new change. I'm excited to get back into MOPS and playdates and I really want to start BSF (Bible Study Fellowship). We haven't had any time to do those things because of me working. I have learned that I might not always get to stay home with her and so I am cherishing this precious time we have. She is only at this age once and I want to SOAK HER UP! She is my little best friend!

Disney World! Day 4-7

Day 4

On day 4 we headed over to Hollywood Studios for my sisters 20th birthday! I always have to remember to call it "Hollywood Studios". Back in the day it was called MGM and that's what I'm used to calling it. Anyway, its my favorite park (next to Magic Kingdom of course). Here is Hannah's first OOTD (outfit of the day)

For dinner we went to Prime Time Cafe! We go there EVERY SINGLE TIME we go to Disney! It is a MUST! The "original 4" (me, my sis, mom and dad) always have taken our picture sitting at the classic tables in the restaurant. The past 2 trips we added a new girl...can you guess who that might be ha!

Day 5

We had a rainy but fun-filled day at Epcot. I have grown to really love Epcot over the years. As a child I HATED it, but as the years go by (and as the park has improved) I always look forward to going back. Here is Epcot's OOTD...

One of the new things I discovered in Epcot that I never knew before was the "Character Spot". Its at the front of the park and there you can meet Mickey, Minnie,Pluto, Goofy and Donald. Hannah was LOVING this and it is now a "must see" on our list from now on!

Day 6

We switched it up again on day 6 and went to Islands of Adventure. I am not too fond of any "non-Disney" parks and I was very hesitant about this one. To my surprise we had a BLAST and IOA has some of the best rides I've ever been on! The new Harry Potter ride is absolutely the BEST! Another thing I loved about it was the Dr. Seuss land that they have for the kids. I knew that they had a section completely devoted to Dr. Seuss and that's what inspired Han's OOTD...

She had such a great time in that section of the park and the best part was that no one was in that section of the park so all the little rides had NO WAIT!

Day 7

Our last day had to be spent at Magic Kingdom. but first we had a Character Breakfast at the Grand Floridian.

We always try to start and end all of our trips in Magic Kingdom. I had bought everyone matching Mickey shirts with the names that Hannah calls everyone on them to wear on our last day.

All of a sudden it had gotten really cold and it made everyone a tad bit cranky but it still didn't stop us from making the best out of our last day.

That night we tried out a Dessert buffet at the Terrace restaurant. It overlooked the whole park and gave us the perfect view for the fireworks that night. The dessert buffet was AMAZING! Unfortunately Han CRASHED OUT before the fireworks started and right after we took this pic...

Can you tell she was tired!!??? We had yet another MAGICAL Disney vacation. It really hit me this year how fast time really does fly by. Ive been to Disney 11 times and each time is so different from one another. This trip my sister leaned over at one point and asked me "don't you wish we were little girls again?" and my answer was "No". Its not that I don't look back and think of those memories with happiness and nostalgia. I am glad to be MAKING memories here and now with my own little girl. The last day when we were all in the van going to Magic Kingdom I made a conscious effort to take a mental picture of what was happening. We would never again be sitting in those same seats at that same stage in our lives. We will go back many many times but it will never be the same as it is now. Life always moves on. I'm sure every time we take our Disney trip we will say "That was the BEST" But I love what my dad always says..."My favorite trip is the one we will take next year"!

We went to DISNEY (again)!!!! Day 1-3

We just got back from Disney World today! It was a MARVELOUS 8 (that's EIGHT) days!!!!! We just went this past February but only stayed for 5 days. Last year people could not believe we were taking our one year old to Disney but we brushed off those negative Nancy's and took her anyway and boy were we PLEASANTLY pleased! She did great and we had a blast! We had so much fun that we decided to go back and so we did, now with an (almost) 2 year old. I have to say that I didn't think it was possible to top last year but.... we did! Hannah was so well behaved and the best part was that she knew exactly what was going on. She is in a Princess obsession now and seeing all the Princesses was so much fun. She also LOVES Mickey Mouse Clubhouse so it was great to see her recognize every character everywhere we went. The first day that we were there we headed straight of the plane to Magic Kingdom! Here are a few pics of the day...

We stopped and met up with Princess Tiana around 3. Tiana is one of Han's favorites! She loves her because she "cooks in da kitchen" and that's Hannah's favorite thing to do.

For dinner, we ate at The Crystal Palace (our all time FAV). Its a character buffet and Pooh and all his friends come around to your table and visit with you. The food is great as well.

Right after dinner we had a costume change (into her Alice dress) and watched the parade...
The next day was Animal Kingdom day! I tried to coordinate Hannah's outfits based on which park we were going to. Here was her first Animal Kingdom outfit...

We were a little bit hesitant of Animal Kingdom this year because Han has developed a horrible fear of bugs. I was convinced we were not going to be doing the "bugs life" 3D show but we gave it a try and she passed with flying colors. Here are some more pics from day 2...

After the park closed we headed over to the Contemporary and had dinner at Chef Mickey's. It was the BEST buffet of the trip (and the most expensive ha!)

Day 3 of our trip we decided to mix it up and go to Universal Studios! I hadn't been in almost 10 years so it was exciting to go back. The thing we were most excited to go back and see were the Back to the future ride and King Kong ride.Well it turns out that they both are no more :(

The highlight of the day was seeing Barney and his friends in the Barney section of the park.

It was a FABULOUS first 3 days! Next up.... Day 4-8!
