Its a Hannah Pumpkin!

We were so excited to carve a pumpkin with Hannah this year. My husband had the idea to do a pumpkin in true Hannah style (one tooth and a big bow on top). We had been keeping the pumpkin for a while and wanted to carve it right before Halloween because they mold so easily (although I was told that if you cover the inside with cinnamon it prevents the mold) Anyway we carved it on Saturday night and it was BIG fun!

She didn't really know what to think of the insides. Of course she wanted to eat it though ha!

By the end she was a little tired though.

My First "Show us your Life Friday"!!!

We moved into our house in January of 2008. We had already started TTC and as soon as we closed on the house I knew exactly where my future baby's room was going to be. Unfortunately it took longer than we had anticipated and I remember so many nights that I spent in that empty room crying and praying that God would give me the baby I so desperately wanted. I would do all of my nightly devotions in the room and I would spend most of my time on my knees asking God to rescue me. I started thinking that I would never bring my baby home to this room. BUT.... God had a better plan and it took me a while to see it. So as soon as we found out we were having a girl it was already decided that the room was going to be Pink, Pink and Pink (big surprise I'm sure)

Here is her room's view from the doorway.
My friend Desiree made this "Tutu table" I saw something similar on etsy and she made me a better one. She used 400 yards of tulle to make it.
My friend Emily painted this for Hannah. This is my favorite verse and its even more special to me because Hannah (from the Bible) actually was the one who said this verse about her son Samuel. I named Hannah after her and I'm so glad we could incorporate the verse in her room.
My grandpa (Daddad) Made Hannah's bookcase and changing table.

Her bedding is a mix of pink stripes and pink nursery rhyme toille.
I feel so blessed to be able to walk in this room now and see it filled with my sweet baby's things and to hear her laugh and play. God really is always faithful even when we are not.

My little "Angel"

Well.... It's Fall Festival time at our church and this year was the first year that I was able to have a little one of my own to dress up. I have been excited about this for months (or maybe even before she was born) anyway... I couldn't wait! Of course naturally I obsessed over and over on what I wanted Hannah to dress up as. Halloween was never a big deal around my house and my mom never really got into buying us really elaborate costumes. Most years my sister or I would go as a "Make-up Artist" which basically meant we would wear all black and do our make-up extra dark ha! So I was really excited to pick out Hannah's first costume. So I went with an Angel, because well... shes my little angel (and I really wanted a big poofy costume and thought an angel would fit the part ha!) So I asked my good friend Desiree to make her costume. She has made Hannah tons of stuff including bows, shirts and tutus and I just had to have her make her first Halloween costume.

These are some of Hannah's friends... Kinley, Harris and Rachel.
This is what the back looks like. I LOVE the wings!!!
It was a fun night. Hannah did great except she wanted to walk everywhere but had trouble walking in all that tulle. I say she better get used to it because this wont be the last time my baby wears 100 yards of tulle ha!

A Walk in the Park

One of the things Hannah and I have been doing lately is going to Landa Park. It has been such nice weather and Hannah LOVES to be outside so it is the perfect place to go on beautiful sunny days. As soon as we park the car and get out she already knows that fun is up ahead and she gets so excited. She loves to swing but HATES to slide. We are still trying to warm her up to the slide. She loves watching other little kids (who are always older than her but she thinks shes a "Big Girl") I have to admit I'm NOT an outside person. I never liked to be outside when its hot or windy (mainly because it messes up my hair ha!) and I HATE bugs. But my little independent adventure girl loves it outside so now its starting to grow on me. I do not see any camping or hiking adventures in our future but he park is a nice place to start.
Here she is walking around the park. She thinks she's such a big girl even though she's only 8 1/2 months!
 Loving the swing!
Not so sure about riding the sea horse though.
If anyone lives or visits the San Antonio/ New Braunfels area you gotta go to Landa Park! Its a great place for kids of all ages.

Chick Chat!

A little over a year ago my mom and I started a ministry called "Chick Chat".We really felt as though there was a need for women to gather together and share "Their Story". My mom had thought of the idea when I was going through all of my problems with infertility and after I had my miscarriage. I would try and talk to her about it but she didnt know what to do or say because she had never gone through anything like that before. Fortunately God had His own plan and used a few of my friends to help me through a really difficult time. And through sharing our experiences and trials with each other... Chick Chat began. Every month women from all different stages of life come and gather at my moms house and listen to a different woman each month share "Her Story". At the end everyone gets to have dessert completely provided and made by me. I'm a pastry chef so of course I love to make a different and unique dessert each month. Its such an Amazing time and it really has opened my eyes to what God really has brought us here on earth to do... To connect with other people and Glorify Him. Here are some pictures of our Chick chat tonight....

This is the dessert table: Candy topiaries, Cupcakes and Caramel apples
I made these Candy Topiaries and the ribbon Wreath its sitting in and now that I look at the whole thing together it looks like a Witch's hat so I'm just gunna say I planned on it to look that way ;)

I made caramel apples! Some rolled in pecans with chocolate drizzle and some rolled in oreos with white chocolate drizzle
These are Candy Bar Cupcakes! It's a caramel butter cake with chocolate chip cream filling inside and Swiss meringue buttercream with candy on top
These are some of "The Chicks" I love these sweet friends!
Me and my friend Rhonda. Love her!
Our speaker tonight (Delaine) spoke about how she always wanted her life to be "perfect" but throughout her life and the many trials and storms she had to endure, she realized that she will never be perfect but she has a God who is. It's so neat to have this group of women to fellowship with. Maybe you can start your own "Chick Chat"???

Future OBU Tiger????

My Parents attended Ouachita Baptist University and always wished that either my sister or I would do the same. Unfortunately for them... We didn't ha! They were very involved and proud of their school and still are. This weekend they went back for Homecoming and right before they left I just had to take Hannah's picture in her OBU Purple and Gold outfit.

My parents are hoping that she will be "the One" to go to their Alma Mater. We'll see....

On a completely different note... I went to the Ole' Market days in San Antonio this weekend and got some really good finds... I found this Precious pink pettidress for $30!!! I couldn't believe it because they normally run up to $120. She might wear this for her Birthday but I am tempted to have her wear it now just because its so fun!

Pumpkin patch and Cupcakes

I love the fact that Hannah is getting more and more aware of her surroundings and she gets so happy and excited over the littlest thing. She has become my best friend in just the 8 short months that shes been alive and I absolutely LOVE going places with her.
Tuesday we had a full day of Pumpkin Patch and shopping. We started out by going to the pumpkin patch at the Methodist church in town. We had gone to another pumpkin patch the week before but she was really tired and we didnt get that many pictures. So I decided to give it one more try and I'm so glad I did. At first she didnt know what to think of all of the hundreds of pumpkins surrounding her but eventually she got used to it and I ended up getting a few good pictures.

After the Pumpkin Patch we went to Downtown Gruene and went around to all of the little shops and Boutiques. Then we stopped by the Gruene Flour Cupcake Shop and got a Pumpkin Spice Cupcake.

She LOVED it!

I Heart Bows

About a month ago I discovered the art of Bow Making. I am now obsessed! There is nothing I love more than picking out ribbon to match all of Hannahs outfits and rushing home from Hobby Lobby to make the perfect matching bow. The moment we found out we were having a girl, one of the things I was most excited about was dressing her up and putting a "Big ol' Bow" on my baby girls head lol! As one of my friends once said "The bigger the bow..... The better the mom". Well if thats true then Hannah is set because I love me some BIG BOWS ha! Here are just a few I've done recently.
